The Teatro Sala Umberto, located on Via della Mercede 50, Rome, was born in 1882, conceptualized as a performance theater. It was used to host comedy, operas and live concerts. With time and changes in ownership, Sala Umberto was then used as a cinema hall and then revamped to transform back to its original state as a performing arts theater. Teatro Sala Umberto now showcases an array of drama and comedy shows. An institution in its own right, this venue has a 650-seat capacity hall that stages modern-day plays.
