Home of the Prague Symphony, the concert hall at Obecní dům (Municipal House) is known to music lovers everywhere as the main venue of the Prague Spring International Music Festival, a fixture on the European festival scene since 1946. The building itself is a wedding-cake triumph of Art Nouveau with decorations by Alfons Mucha and other highly-skilled decorative artists. If you're not in town for the Prague Spring Festival, you could take in a concert by the house band - the Prague Symphony - which plays a strong second fiddle to the Czech Philharmonic in the city's orchestra pits.
