Established in 1998, the Lisbon Oceanarium has over 450 different species of animals. The aquarium designed by Peter Chermayeff is said to be the largest aquarium of its kind in the whole of Europe. One of the main attractions of the aquarium is the Ocean Sunfish. Open to the public throughout the year, the aquarium attracts people of all ages. There are audio guides available in different languages along with guided tours. There are several activities directed towards the little ones like Sleeping with the Sharks, Concert for Babies and so on. Giving the illusion of walking through the ocean, the Lisbon Oceanarium is definitely a must-visit.
