In 2009, a group of impassioned residents saw an unoccupied, unadorned expanse of land near East 138th Street and decided to take up the task of beautifying the lot. Their tireless efforts, along with the support of discerning organizations, led to the building of the sublime La Finca del Sur. This unassuming, community-led farm is a verdant gem in the heart of the neighborhood. One can find plants bearing an array of fruits and vegetables, sown and grown by a motley group of farmers.
