This magnificent building was founded in 1136 by Raymond Beranger. The Abbey was influential for quite some time until the 14th century when it relaxed its grip on the people. In 1854 it was bought by the state and became a national monument. In keeping with its Cistercian architecture, this building combines a refined style with a sober and austere elegance. The scrubland and cicadas are just some of the elements that make this spot conducive to contemplation. Crafts are on sale at the entrance to the monastery.
