Speyer

Speyer has the distinction of being one of the oldest cities in the entire country. Founded by the Romans, the town is blessed with incredible architecture, especially the Speyer Cathedral, a Romanesque behemoth which dominates the skyline. The red-hued attraction aside, the Gedächtniskirche and Dreifaltigkeitskirche are other significant churches in town. While the historic relics are aplenty, a visit to the Technikmuseum Speyer will bring you face to face with the history of modern transportation. Definitely a premier tourist city, Speyer is well worth your time.
