Tucked away in the deeply idyllic Ammergau region in Bavaria, this pretty mountainside town near the Austrian border inspires awe. It is famously home to the Ettaler Weidmoos, a nature reserve with serene meadows and unique flora and fauna. A number of hiking trails wind their way across the reserve, offering visitors a glimpse of its breathtaking beauty.
