The iconic Capitólio, after being closed in 1980, reopened in 2016 much to the delight of performing arts fans in the city. The variety of events hosted at this historic venue is capable of drawing large number of fans from across the city and country. Originally, this performing arts venue first opened its door to the public in 1931 and over the decades, it carved out a name for itself as one of the best performing arts and cultural venues in Portugal.
