109 North Fort Harrison Avenue, Clearwater, FL, United States, 33755
CCHR Florida situated in the heart of Clearwater is the headquarters of the mental health watchdog NGO, Citizens Commission on Human Rights. This not-for-profit group was established in 1969 by Church of Scientology and renowned psychiatrist Thomas Szasz. The agenda of CCHR Florida is to expose and educate people regarding the ill treatments some mental-health practitioners inflict on the patients under the label of psychiatric practice. The headquarters features the popular museum, Psychiatry: An Industry of Death, that has audio-video exhibits displaying various psychiatric abuses practiced over the years and its ill-effects. Take a self-guided tour of this museum free of cost on any day of the week while you are in the city if you wish to learn about psychiatry.
