Fenway Garden Society

Located in the heart of Boston is Fenway Victory Gardens that was established in 1942 and is one of the oldest surviving victory gardens in America. The history of the garden date back to World War II when the victory gardens were created to reduce the pressure on the public food supply brought on by the war. In present times the garden covers an area of 7.5 acres (3 hectares) and produces vegetables, herbs and flowers. Whether you are a person who enjoys urban gardening or are an avid history buff, you must visit the garden. Visitors can also enjoy family picnics, take part in workshops, or simple indulge in bird watching or wildlife.
