Spread across 4,600 acres (18.6 square kilometers) of both land and water, Mission Bay Park is the largest aquatic park found in the United States. The beautiful park boasts 19 sandy beaches, eight of which are suitable for swimming, as well as 14 miles (22.5 kilometers) of bike paths and a variety of hiking and walking trails that run along the approximately 27 miles (43.4 kilometers) of shoreline found within the park. Visitors can also launch their boats from a variety of boat docks, rent sailboats, and bring the kids to one of several playgrounds located within the park.
