Eck Stadium is noted as a premier venue for NCAA baseball. Located at the Wichita State University campus, the stadium is the home of the much-revered Shocker men’s varsity baseball team. Originally built in 1978, the stadium has since undergone numerous upgrades, placing it at the top of the list of the country's top varsity sports venues. At the time when the stadium was originally built, the excess dirt was used to build what is now known as "outfield hill," an informal seating area that can accommodate over a thousand spectators over and above the stadium's official capacity. Paired with the lively air that pervades the stadium on game days, the Eck is a fine place to watch the Shockers in action. Concessions and accessible seating are also available at Eck Stadium.
