Symbolic in every way, POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews chronicles the story of this community some 1000 years ago. From their arrival to Poland to their existence in the present age, this repository is a great place for history lovers. Sheathed in copper and glass with letters describing the word 'Polin' in Hebrew and Latin, the building is nestled in an area where Jews were the major population before the war and became a ghetto during the World War II. Spread across eight galleries that are divided into the past, present and future, it gives a glimpse of how the Jews shaped the culture and heritage of Poland. Check out the recreated images of the 17th-century Gwoździec Synagogue and from the Holocaust to post-war times. This comprehensive museum is indeed one of the highlights in Warsaw.
