Home of the London Symphony Orchestra and part of the extensive multi-arts Barbican Centre, the Barbican Hall puts on classical concerts as well as an exciting range of contemporary, jazz, and world music performances. It is a large venue, with seats for just about 2,000 people, including 16 wheelchair spaces. Performance times vary. Look out for free performances in the foyer area over bank holidays and festivals; these cover a multitude of musical and artistic styles and can happen at any time of day. There is also a bar and a great shop selling a wild selection of bargain-priced masks and an imaginative range of Shakespearean novelty items.
