Writing music at a young age, Vancouver-based Dan Mangan initially began his musical endeavors as a part of a band in high school. While his band members moved on after graduating, Mangan stuck to music and took out loans to finance his debut album, which he released at the age of 20, in 2005. The Canadian singer/songwriter slowly began receiving more attention for his Americana ballads and was signed to indie powerhouse label Arts & Crafts. He was subsequently nominated for a Polaris award, which helped grow his international cred.
