Dog Fashion Disco, the American heavy metal band from Rockville, MD, has never strived to cater to the tastes of the lovers of mainstream music. Originally comprised of Todd Smith, Greg Combs and John Ensminger, it marked its debut with its major-label release Anarchists of Good Taste in 2001. Its association with Spitfire Records ended with 2003's Committed to a Bright Future. After some changes in its lineup, the band recorded the EP Day of the Dead while also striving to bring to life its first live album - The City Is Alive Tonight, released in 2005. Following the release of DFD's sixth studio album Adultery and a supporting tour, the band announced that it had decided to part ways. Post-disbanding, some members of the band formed a number of side-acts such as Polkadot Cadaver, Knives Out!, El-Creepo! and more. Despite keeping busy with other work, the bandmembers reunited four times for a few shows before officially reuniting in 2013. At a concert that same year, Smith revealed the band's plans for an album, which was released in 2014. The album, titled Sweet Nothings, was funded by Indiegogo and was followed by other works including Ad Nauseam, Committed to a Bright Future and Tres Pendejos.
