Formed by three prominent musicians in their own right, with several Juno awards between them, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings initially started as a side project, but quickly became a full-fledged group with a solid following. Taking its name from the 1978 Willie P. Bennett album, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings melds roots rock with weathered voices akin to Johnny Cash. The trio has a large presence on the rising Canadian country scene and has proven itself countless times as a band best experienced live.
