6 Mile James River Kayak Or Canoe Trip Buchanan To Arcadia
#A 6-mile river trip which takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to paddle with class I & II rapids!
Included in price: Rental of boat, paddles, life jackets, safety orientation, river maps, use of dry bags, and all required shuttles.
Duration Total trip experience is typically around 2.5 to 3 Hours, plus time for orientation, launching, and return shuttle. Return shuttle times: 4:00PM, 4:30pm, 5pm, & 5:30pm only. All trips must end by 5:30, no exceptions.
Trip Summary
Featuring a fun & exciting river section with good current and numerous Class I & II rapids. Short but fun afternoon trip. Trip departs from our Buchanan riverfront location paddles downstream to the Breeden Bottom Arcadia Campground by the Arcadia James River bridge. As this trip ends downstream it requires a return shuttle. This trip is more challenging than the Springwood float.
Trip Requirements
All participants must be able to swim and not be afraid of the water. Footwear is required. All participants must be at least 6 years old. No alcohol is allowed on the river per Virginia State law.
