Based on the life of Helen Keller, The Miracle Worker tells the story of Keller's early life, as her parents indulge her after a childhood illness renders her deaf, blind and dumb. When her parents hire a governess, Anne Sullivan, to tutor and care for the girl, the two at first come into great conflict. Eventually, however, Sullivan convinces the parents to leave them alone for two weeks, and Sullivan makes traction with the girl. This transformative tale exhibits the power of strength, love and will, first sharing Keller's triumphant story on the stage in 1957, since bringing it to numerous regional and major stages worldwide.
