English comedian, novelist and actor Julian Clary started his career as a fake keyboard player in the pop band Thinkman. Clary turned to stand-up comedy in the early 1980s and began performing under the moniker Gillian Pieface and eventually The Joan Collins Fanclub, covered in glam makeup and dressed in extreme leather ensembles hinting at bondage. His comedy routines are full of innuendos and double entendres, a combination that has earned him several television specials and a fan base through comedy tours and festival appearances.
