For this year’s production, Morning Star has created a revolutionary project that will bring to life an old traditional folktale of the devoted daughter, Shim Cheong, in a story of love, sacrifice, and restoration. Celebrate culture and develop an appreciation for the performing arts, featuring Korean dance & music by Morning Star Korean Cultural Center.

Narae has truly become an anticipated cultural showcase where guests enjoy dynamic performances accompanied by a variety of drums, gongs, zithers, flutes and cymbals. The colorful display of costumes, stage setting and decor compliment the artists’ talent and award-winning original choreography. In addition to the repertoire, highly acclaimed performers are invited to participate. For this year’s production, Morning Star has created a revolutionary project that will bring to life an old traditional folktale through dance and music. We guarantee a performance that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

This year, Narae will be held on September 29, 2019, at Meany Hall for the Performing Arts on the University of Washington campus.
We look forward to another evening of celebrating tradition and innovation through elegant dance, stirring harmony, and explosive rhythm!
