John Frank Tesh is composer and pianist also known as the founded and host of the John Tesh Radio Show. After graduating from North Carolina University with a degree in communications and music, Tesh held a succession of jobs as a news anchor and reporter throughout the 1970s. He made his way to New York, where he landed a job with WCBS-TV as the station's youngest reporter. In 1986, he became the host of Entertainment Tonight, a position he would hold onto for a decade. The following year, Tesh joined the touring band of pianist, composer and longtime friend Yanni. He eventually got his own recording contract with Private Music, and many of his compositions, such as his "NBA on NBC Theme," became integral parts of television. When his run as the host of Entertainment Tonight came to an end, he turned his full attention to his career as a contemporary keyboardist. With this new focus, Tesh started the John Tesh Radio Show in 2003. The nationally syndicated radio show, broadcast on 400 radio stations across the US and the UK, plays soft rock music and offers facts and other information to engage listeners on topics such as health, happiness and well-being.
