World renowned as the founder and lead vocalist of the English rock band The Who, Roger Daltrey is a singer/songwriter, musician and actor who has also enjoyed a successful solo career. Along with Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon, Daltrey formed The Who in 1964 and quickly took the London-based project from an underground secret into a national treasure with its first few albums, starting with The Who's debut full-length record, My Generation, in 1965. One of the main players of the British Invasion, The Who would go on to capture the hearts of an international audience, making Daltrey a figurehead of rock and roll. He released his first solo album Daltrey, in 1973, and would go on to collaborate with artists such as Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Mick Ronson. Though he submerged himself in various solo projects, including his band No Plan B and a stint with the British Rock Symphony after The Who broke up in 1982, he would return to the band in 1988 and again in 1996 when he, Townshend and Entwistle joined forces once more. Even after Entwistles death in the early 2000s, Daltry and Townshend continue to perform and record new music as The Who, including 2006's Endless Wire.
