The Pimps of Joytime is an underground funk/soul trio based in Brooklyn, New York that combines Latin, afrobeat and various pop stylings into a unique brand of music that has earned the band a huge amount of recognition on the Brooklyn independent music scene and beyond. Led by bandleader Brian J, The Pimps of Joytime got its start playing clubs in Williamsburg and the East Village, quickly expanding its performance territory to Los Angeles, New Orleans and San Francisco shortly thereafter. Today, The Pimps of Joytime is known worldwide as one of the more progressive funk/soul bands out there, with several albums already under its belt and a touring schedule that has the quintet performing to sold out crowds throughout the world.
