We are in for a special treat! Kate Munger, founder of Threshold Choirs will be joining us for our Third Wednesday Community Sing in August. No one better than Kate to get a group of singers tuning, blending and harmonizing their voices with exquisite grace and beauty! Heather will bring her shruti box and open up the evening with a vocal meditation session. The upstairs room of the Vet's Hall is made for this kind of singing!

From Marin County, CA, Kate Munger has devoted herself for over 40 years to creating non-hierarchical, collaborative models for spirited group singing, joyful community building and deep fellowship through rounds and parts singing. Kate has written hundreds of singable, fun, deep songs that remind us of our best inclinations and intentions, and are sung accompaniment to our rich lives.

In 2000 she founded the first of now 220 Threshold Choirs worldwide for choral singers who are called to sing at the bedsides of people who are dying, in coma, newborns, children in hospital and with folks who are grieving and who are incarcerated. In honoring its innovative mission, the Threshold Choir has re-imagined what true service can look like; healing the giver as it offers comfort, presence and ease for the receiver. Now retired from the business of the Threshold Choir, Kate lives, swims, works and sings along the shores of Tomales Bay, monthly at San Quentin and most recently in Chico with the community of survivors of the Camp Fire.

Heather Houston has devoted her life to uplifting hearts, freeing voices, and transforming lives through the power of singing. She is not only a successful recording artist, but spreads her magic through her Yala Lati womens choir, her 20 plus years of international song circle leading, and her many vocal coaching and song leader training programs. Heather is honored to be a part of the Specialty Class Faculty at 1440 Multiversity and is excited to be in the recording studio working on two new albums of original material. www.heatherhoustonmusic.com
