Set in New York in the first decade of the 20th Century, Funny Girl tells the story of Fanny Brice and her early career in show business. The musical also chronicles her romantic relationship with Nick Arnstein. It includes songs "You Are a Woman, I am a Man," "Don't Rain on My Parade" and "The Music That Makes Me Dance." In 1968 the story was adapted into a film starring Barbara Streisand, who won an Academy Award for her performance.
