Spindrift is a psychedelic rock band that was founded in 1992 in Newark, Delaware. Spending much of the 1990s as a popular fixture of the Eastern Seaboard indie rock scene, in 2001 the band opted for a stylistic and geographical change--moving to Los Angeles and pursuing a Western sound, greatly influenced by Spaghetti Western composer Enrico Morricone's characteristic sonic aesthetic. Though this "psychedelic cowboy" sound the band adopted managed to warrant some interesting listening material, the changes were only temporary and in 2009, the band retooled itself again, this time as a more Americana-leaning band with defined paisley rock characteristics.
