Originally from Woodstock, New York the jazz and funk trio Soulive is made up of Eric Krasno on guitar Alan Evans on drums and his brother Neal on keyboards. While Soulive is ostensibly a trio, the three collaborate and record with a constantly rotating cast of musicians. Former collaborators include John Scofield, Maceo Parker, Reggie Watts, Talib Kweli, and song remixes by DJ Krush and DJ Spinna. A central component to Soulive's music is their live experience as they tour heavily through out the year, release as many live albums as original albums, and incorporate a significant amount of improvisation into their live performances. Soulive released Rubber Soulive in 2010, a cover of The Beatles classic 1965 album Rubber Soul.
