Following in the footsteps of Gogol Bordello and DeVotchKa, Diego's Umbrella is San Francisco's addition to the gypsy punk/Balkan folk scene. The group formed in 2000, picking up members as well as diverse instrumentation along the way and ending up a six-piece with a plethora of horns, violins and accordions. With nods to traditional polka, alternative rock guitars and punk vocals, Diego's Umbrella incorporates diverse enough elements to attract a wide audience, drawing in more fans with its onstage antics and sense of humor.
