Boston-based ensemble Bad Rabbits is an indie pop/funk band that rose out of the ashes of The Eclectic Collective in 2007. The Eclectic Collective formed in 2002 while its members were split between Northeastern University and Audio Institute in Boston, but after a couple of self-released albums the band was unhappy with its sound and reinvented itself as Bad Rabbits. The recharged band took a full year to experiment with and develop a new sound before it released its R&B-inspired indie pop EP The Bad, in 2008. After traveling to California to perform at the PacSun Ballyhoo festival on the iconic Santa Monica Pier, Bad Rabbits teamed up with producer Teddy Riley who worked with the band on its 2012 debut album, American Dream.
