The autoharp seems to have fallen out of fashion within the popular music scene. The slightly erstwhile instrument was pretty popular with folk and folk revivalist groups back in the day, but within the radical electronic music world that currently exists - the autoharp is virtually dead. In an attempt to arouse the public's interest in the instrument Canadian folk singer Basia Bulat has started using it at a fervent pace. Her songs are fairly downtempo and her mellow strumming of the autoharp is a perfect match for the songstress' lilting voice.
