Barefoot in the Park
[]
Debuted in 1963 as a Broadway play, Barefoot in the Park is among the most notable works of playwright, Neil Simon. This romantic comedy about a newlywed couple was the writer's longest-running hit and among Broadway's top 10 longest-running non-musical shows. It was also adapted later into a film and television series. The plot revolves around Paul and Corie who are newly married in New York. Paul is an uptight lawyer while Corie is carefree and spontaneous. Barefoot in the park means to become more easy-going, here in the case of Corie wanting her husband to be. How the romance sparks between the two and they learn to adjust with each other in the first four days of their married life form the crux of the story.
