Blind Guardian is one of the more interesting bands that emerged from the bustling German heavy metal scene of the mid 1980s. The group's speed metal tendencies matched with vocalist Hansi Kürsch's epic lyrics--inspired by the fantasy authors such as J. R. R. Tolkien, Stephen King and Michael Moorcock--combine to create music of truly epic proportions.
