The village of Cesenatico is only a few kilometers from Rimini. It's one the Adriatic state road towards Ravenna. Every year, during the Christmas period, the village builds a floating creche along the port's canal (designed by Leonardo da Vinci). It is laid out on the boats which belong to the Floating Maritime museum. This almost unique collection of boats makes the display all the more beautiful. There are statues of fishermen and craftsmen which have been designed by local people and honor old seafaring traditions. All the characters in the nativity scene have gifts for the newborn Jesus. It's a wonderful display and always attracts a large group of visitors and photographers. In fact, it is said that this is the most photographed port in Italy.
