Swallow the Sun is a heavy metal band from Finland that mixes together elements of death metal and doom metal. After forming in 2000 and releasing its debut album, The Morning Never Came, in 2003, the six-piece outfit began earning widespread acclaim in the national metal community and eventually in the mainstream music scene with the 2005 release of its sophomore LP, Ghosts of Loss. Swallow the Sun has since expanded its reach onto an international audience with several European and North American tours, as well as releases like 2012's Emerald Forest and the Blackbird.
