The Sunshine Coast International Readers and Writers Festival Inc brings together regional, Australian and international writers (including journalists, photographers, poets, performers and musicians) on a world stage creating a space for conversation and connection across cultural and geographic divides.
The Festival offers One-Day and Two-Day passes to attend events in our official venues (Coolum Civic Centre, Festival Marquees and the Coolum Surf Club). Our two Literary Lunch events (including two-course meals and drinks) can be purchased separately as Special Event tickets.
Friday, September 9 from 6pm to 10pm: Official Opening Ceremony and Welcome to Country, Music from award-winning singer-songwriters. Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11: 9am to 5pm: One-hour panel discussions, authors presentations and workshops PLUS two Literary Lunches. Saturday, September 10 from 6pm to 11pm: Festival Poets Night including slam poets, bush poetry, performance poetry and singer-songwriter performances. Sunday, September 11 from 6pm to 9pm: Festival Closing Celebrations including comedy, music and fireworks!
One-Day, Two-Day and Literary Lunch Tickets can be purchased via our website at reduced Early Bird prices from June. All One-Day and Two-Day passes include entry to the Festivals Official Opening Celebrations in Coolum Civic Centre on Friday, September 9 from 6pm to 11pm. The Literary Lunch Tickets (70-people per lunch) will sell out, so it is recommended that you purchase these tickets in advance. The Festivals Ticket Office will open at 1pm on Friday, September 10 in the Coolum Civic Centre.
