Sugar is a musical based on the widely popular Billy Wilder film Some Like it Hot that premiered on Broadway in 1972 and on the West End 20 years later in 1992. The story follows two unemployed musicians who don drag and pose and female instrumentalists after they're forced to leave Chicago after witnessing the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. As different devices and ploys start to befall the two characters, they find out that posing as women possess its own set of pitfalls and perks.
