Waltari is hard to categorize in terms of a single genre, but can be described as a Finnish band that combines alternative, death, progressive and heavy metal, with touches of pop, punk, techno, and hip hop. Waltari came together in Helsinki, releasing its first album, Monk Punk, in 1991. The group’s big break came in 1995 with its fourth album, Big Bang, wherein songs were integrated with techno and metal.
