4-day Small Group Tour: Rome To Amalfi Coast

Itinerary

Day 1: Depart from Naples - Visit Pompeii the archeological site - Drive the coast and arrive to Sorrento

Pass By: Stazione Napoli Centrale, Piazza Garibaldi, 80142, Naples Italy
Meet and greet our team and the other travellers in Naples and travelby private bus/minivan towards our first stop Pompeii, the UNESCO world Heritage destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m of ashes and pumice in the eruption of the Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.

Stop At: Pompeii Archaeological Park, Porta Marina (via Villa dei Misteri), 80045 Pompeii Italy
In Pompeii you will have free time to explore the ruins at your own peace ( entry ticket included ) or organize with your tour leader a 2h guided tour with a professional local guide.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Sorrento Coast, Sorrento Coast, Province of Naples, Campania
The trip will continue to Sorrento, a wonderful pearl on the Amalfi coast overlooking the bay of Naples where our accommodation is located.
Once in Sorrento, after you all have checked in your accommodation, your guide will take you for an orientation walk around the town center pointing out the local products and the best places to eat. In the evening you have the choice to spend time on your own or join your guide to a local restaurant for an optional delicious dinner and to a club later on for some drinks.

Stop At: Via Marina Piccola, 80067, Sorrento Italy
After dinner, end the day by the beach next to the old marina with a drink in your hand while enjoying the gulf of Naples at night.

Day 2: BOAT TOUR TO CAPRI ISLAND

Stop At: Island of Capri, Island of Capri, Province of Naples, Campania
What a perfect way to start the day with a boat trip to Capri island. Our boat tour will depart from the campsite in the morning. During our trip to Capri you will be enchanted by the magnificent bay of Sorrento, the beautiful coast line and the blue Gulf of Naples.
Duration: 7 hours

Stop At: Blue Grotto, Via Grotta Azzurra, 80071 Anacapri, Island of Capri Italy
In Capri you will have time to discover the island in complete freedom by public bus; visit Anacapri, where you can take the chairlift up to the top of Mt. Solaro for a breathtaking 360 degree view of the island, visit the Blue Grotto with fantastic crystal blue colours, explore Capri town and finally relax on the beach. You can also book with your Italy on a Budget guide our private shuttle bus to tour the island in the most comfortable and easy way.

Stop At: Capri, Capri, Island of Capri, Province of Naples, Campania
We will board the boat again in the afternoon to return to the camping village but not before touring around the island of Capri to admire the Grotta Verde (Green Grotto), Punta Carena, (the furthest point of the island) and all the amazing natural beauties.

Once back to the accommodation you will be taking for a swim in a spectacular natural pool of emerald water set among the ancient Roman ruins with coastal views at the sunset. Spend the evening as you prefer.

Day 3: DAY TOUR TO AMALFI COAST - AMALFI AND POSITANO

Stop At: Amalfi Coast, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania
Our third day is all for the Amalfi coast and its wonders. The panorama from the narrow and windy road of the Amalfi coast will be terrific. During the journey to Amalfi, we will pass by the Islands of Galli, the fishing villages of Furore and Praiano, famous for its crystal-clear seas, the encompassing views and its cathedral located 365m above the sea level.

We will stop in the town of Amalfi for about 2h to allow you to discover the town at your own peace and its famous cathedral, lie down at the beach and have a bite on one of the typical shop selling fresh local food. We will board again after lunch for the splendid town of Positano with its cascade of colourful houses, clinging magically to earth. Its pastel buildings form a vertical wonderland. Narrow, threadlike streets provide boutiques, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Stop At: Positano, Positano, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania
In Positano we will stay 3h to allow you to relax on the beach, go for a swim and discover this little gem of the Amalfi coast. We will return back our campsite at approx 6:00 pm.

Stop At: Sorrento, Sorrento, Province of Naples, Campania
Our last evening in Sorrento spend time on your own or join your guide at a restaurant in Sorrento for the best pizza of the Amalfi coast and later for some drinks.

Day 4: TOUR OF NAPLES

Stop At: Naples, Naples, Florida
It’s time to say goodbye to the wonderful Amalfi coast to return back to Naples. You can’t leave the South of Italy without taking at least a small peek at Naples, home of the Italian pizza and Italian customs. We will stop 4h in one of the areas of Naples famous for its shopping and monuments. Your guide will take you for an orientation walk and will show you the places of interests; San Carlo theatre, Plebiscito square, Umberto I 's gallery and where to get the most delicious hezelnut coffee. You will be than free to walk around the city with our handy Italy on a Budget maps and stop for lunch in a traditional pizzeria to finally taste the best Neapolitan pizza! The tour will end right after lunch.
Continue your adventure on our 7 day Discovery Sicily by taking the ferry from Naples or take a train to Florence for " the Best of Tuscany " .
