Hold Me Tight Weekend Workshop

Sunday, 29 Sep 2019 @ 9:00 AM Past Event
Hold Me Tight Weekend Workshop
[]
A weekend relationship enhancement workshop.

We all have a fundamental need to feel valued, understood, and loved by our partner. Research shows that ALL couples get disconnected at times, and there is a reliable road map for reconnection. This Hold Me Tight® Workshop can help you improve communication, foster understanding, and enhance emotional intimacy.

The Hold Me Tight® Workshop was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson and is designed around seven conversations based on the Hold Me Tight book, all of which have been shown to be essential to successful relationships. You will learn how to understand and improve your relationship through presentations by the workshop leaders, private exercises and conversations with your partner, and by watching video demonstrations of other couples. This workshop will be led by therapists Allison Doyle, LMFT and Rebecca Clark, LMFT who are both certified in the evidenced-based Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. Additional EFT-trained therapists will be available to offer support during the private, breakout conversations. This gentle yet structured workshop is safe, supportive and fun. We help eliminate the kind of confusion that can lead any couple into feelings of frustration and isolation.

The videos, lectures, and one-on-one exercises create opportunities to:

Recognize the negative patterns where ALL couples get stuck and discover what you are really trying to communicate

Understand what drives conflict in relationships

Explore the feelings and needs underneath your behaviors

Find forgiveness, heal past hurts and move forward

Create and nurture emotional safety and intimacy

Affirm strengths in your relationship

Improve your communication and have more effective conversations

The event will be held at the gracious Hilton Garden Inn nestled in the heart of historic Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Area restaurants, shops, and the Atlantic Ocean waterfront are a short walk from our conference area. Room discounts are available for event attendees with a two-night minimum. This will be a perfect getaway in coastal NH during New England fall foliage season. Sign up for this special opportunity to strengthen your relational bond and nurture your connection together. Your relationship deserves it! We encourage partners to purchase the Hold Me Tight book on their own prior to the event, but this is not required.
