Killerpilze (Killer Mushrooms) is the name of a German pop-punk band, existing since 2002. When the band was formed, all the members were still in school, not older than 17 and already writing their own songs; at first in English language, later only in German. In 2003 the band played it's first live show as an opener and two years later the Killerpilze already signed a record deal with the major label Universal Music. A great deal of their rapidly growing popularity they owed to the German teen magazine Bravo, that tried to sell the band as a punk equivalent to the German teen band Tokio Hotel. So far Killerpilze has released 5 albums and they are currently working on a new one.
