The English alternative rock band Suede, like The Stone Roses, was a group that helped launch the mid 1990s Britpop craze, despite not being one of the genre's flag bearers like Blur or Oasis. The group formed in 1989 and even before the band had released an LP, it was receiving loads of accolades - even managing to get the cover story on a few noteworthy British music magazines. The glam friendly group took a hit when founding member and guitarist Bernard Butler left the group to pursue other endeavors and in 2003 the band called it quits. Suede launched a reunion in 2010, though, and if the group's first few shows are any inclination of how the band sounds in its current incarnation, its future should be promising.
