The a cappella sextet Take 6 emerged out of Huntsville, AL in 1985 with a fusion of gospel, soul, R&B and jazz music. The band was signed to Warner Brothers Records in 1987 and has been serenading the world with rich harmonies ever since. After winning its first Grammy Award in 1989, Take 6 continued to snag a steady stream of Grammys throughout the 1990s and worked with prolific artists such as Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles and Quincy Jones. Sporting four of its six original members, the group has proven itself to be a lasting fixture in the realm of modern gospel.
