Antigone CANCELLED
[]
Sophocles's Antigone is an indispensable work of classic Greek tragedy, written circa 441 BC, during a time of great Grecian upheaval. The play is the last installment in the three-part Theban plays, which dramatizes a mythological curse for the stage. Antigone's eponymous protagonist insists, against King Creon's orders, on performing burial rights on her deceased brother. The epic drama is inextricably influential in modern drama and storytelling methods, and the original script has been interpreted, translated and adapted innumerable times, never losing its gripping theatrical power.
