Canadian neo-psychedelia folk trio Yukon Blonde began its career as Alphababy. However, after touring in 2008 under this moniker, the group decided it needed a makeover and the band members locked themselves in a cabin on Okanagan Lake; here they wrote 14 new songs in an entirely different vein from anything they had written before. A year and a half later, the band emerged as Yukon Blonde, grabbing the attention of producer Shawn Cole, who agreed to produce the band's EP and full-length, which were both released in 2010. Since then, the band has received positive reviews both in the US and Canada.
