Formed in 1999 under the name Tender, the band changed its moniker to Takida after Gohei Takeda, who is a character in the Japanese anime series Nagareboshi Gin. It released its debut album ...Make You Breathe in 2006 which was a great success. The following albums Bury the Lies and The Darker Instinct gained the band more publicity reaching number one on the Swedish charts. Although Takida typically receives bad reviews by critics, this doesn´t seem to affect its popularity with fans.
