Often referred to as The Barnsley Nightingale Kate Rusby is a folk singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Yorkshire. As a child Rusby took up guitar, piano, the fiddle and voice lessons between sets at several local folk festivals and gigs with her Celtic folk band The Poozies. Her first acclaimed album was her 1995 collaboration with fellow folk singer Kathryn Roberts titled Kate Rusby & Kathryn Roberts. She released her debut solo album Hourglass, in 1997 but would go on to continue working with The Poozies and collaborating with other musicians. Her mainstream success came in the late 200s after her duet with Ronan Keating "All Over Again," peaked at number six on the UK Singles Charts in 2006 and her performance at the 2007 Cambridge Folk Festival. Rusby released her tenth studio album While Mortals Sleep, in 2011.
