Columbus Day is a public holiday in many parts of the country, with schools and public buildings closed. Places that do observe Columbus Day have parades celebrating Italian-American heritage. However, about a third of states do not observe Columbus Day - some celebrate Indigenous People's Day in its place. Indigenous People's Day honors Native Americans, their rich, diverse cultures, and brings attention to the injustices perpetrated against them.
While we do our best to ensure the accuracy of our listings, events may be postponed or cancelled without notice. Please confirm with the organizer before making any plans.
