Hailing from Chicago, The Jungle Brothers is a hip-hop outfit that is renowned for pushing the preconceived boundaries of rap. After dropping its debut album, Straight out the Jungle, in 1988, the group rose to attention with its trail-blazing fusion of jazz, hip-hop and house music. Recognized as the first hip-hop group to include a house music producer in the form of DJ Sammy B, The Jungle Brothers helped shape the crossover of hip-hop and electronic dance music that went on to dominate mainstream pop in the 2010s.
