Duke Robillard is a blues singer/songwriter and musician from Woonsocket, Rhode Island who has earned a name for himself as a blues guitarist. After founding Roomful of Blues with pianist Al Copley in 1967 and releasing a couple of records with the band in the 1970s, he dropped his debut solo album, Duke Robillard & The Pleasure Kings, in 1984. While maintaining a lucrative solo career, he played as a session guitarist with prolific acts such as Wham! and Jimmy Witherspoon, and would go on to join The Fabulous Thunderbirds as a rhythm guitarist in the 1990s. Throughout collaborations with legends such as Bob Dylan, as well as up-and-coming blues players like Todd Sharpville, Robillard continues to release his own material, including his 2011 studio album, Low Down and Tore Up.
